Construction of the International Space Station (ISS) began in 1998. It is currently the largest structure assembled in Earth - orbit. This program reviews the history of this tremendous international undertaking. Also discussed is our long history of attempting to escape Earth’s gravity. From the first fireworks rockets invented by the Chinese before the 10th century to manned spaceflight to the Moon (1972) and to Mars (projected for 2030 according the European Space Agency and NASA proposal.) 20:00
